Halfmoon on Fire

Hello again! I have a awesome mani for you today I have been dying to do for a while. I thought of it one day months ago. Don't know what took me so long but it's alright. It's here now. I just wish I had some sunlight to take some nice pics. It's really cloudy outside.

I started with an orange base. I had that on for a few days actually. Then I did my cut-in-half-re-enforcer trick to hide the bottom portion and painted the nail with China Glaze - Happy Go Lucky.

I was planning on stamping immediately so I put on a coat of Seche Vite to set that so I could stamp without smudging and used Konad plate M63 to stamp the "flames" if that is what they are, and aligned them with the curve of the halfmoon.

I was very concerned about my alignment. I really didn't think that I would get it right because I am not the best at getting my stamps exactly where I want them, but this didn't turn out too bad! I really like it.

What do you think?

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ah, my favorite day of the year. This is seriously my favorite holiday. I'm not even Irish. I just love it!

Check out the mani I did for you guys today:

I started with a coat of Ilalmasqua - Whack, my favorite orange creme. Then I used re-enforcer stickers to hide the lower portion of my nail and painted the rest with Rescue Beauty Lounge - Underwear to get the half-moon mani.

Next, I used Konad plate M22 and Konad special polish in green to stamp the clovers. I did this before my tips because I figured it would be easier for me to make a mistake on the clovers than on the french tip and would hate to do more work than I had to if I made a mistake and had to start over.

Lastly I painted the tips with Illamasqua - Elope and topped it all off with Seche Vite.

Laine's Official Valentine's Day Manicure

So this is my final V-Day creation (maybe. We still have a couple days. I could always change my mind...) and I have been wearing it since Tuesday night. I don't know if it'll hold up until Sunday but that's alright. The point is that I get to share it with you.

So I went for a half moon manicure. I mean, are you honestly surprised?! I can't get enough of them!

I started with a base of white creme. I chose Rescue Beauty Lounge - Underwear. Then I used reinforcer stickers to hide the bottom portion and painted the rest of the nail with Color Club - Art of Seduction (fitting name for V-Day!) When I removed the sticker I added the triangular, red rhinestones to the moon with a little dab of top coat. If I had little red hearts, I probably would have used them but I just had red triangles, red circles, or yellow hearts. No match! Then I finished with a coat of Seche Vite top coat. It reminds me of the classic red halfmoon manicure, but with a twist:

Have a lovely weekend and a Happy Valentine's Day no matter what you do!

New Orleans Saints Mani

Hello fanatics and football fans! I decided to do a mani for the Superbowl in honor of the New Orleans Saints. I have been rooting for them this year (when not supporting my beloved Bears!) and thought a Saints mani was in order. Plus I love combinations of black and gold so I have an extra excuse to do it! Apologies to my international readers. I know American football is not an international sport like futbol, but I love it!

I started by painting the whole nail with China Glaze - Passion. Next I halfmooned it with the majority of the nail in black. Then I added Essie - Matte About You to make the whole nail flat. The reason being I love foils stamped over flat black. It looks so hott. Then I stamped the Fleur-de-lis on all nails with Passion and Konad plate M15.

Hope you all enjoy the game, snacks and beer! (and commercials!)

It's a Full Moon! Nope. I Was Wrong.

Hello! I have some pics of a few halfmoon manicures I rocked recently. I have had a big thing for them!

This one consists of Sally Hansen - Commander in Chic for the moons and OPI - You Don't Know Jacques! MATTE for the rest of the nail. They are so close it color! YDKJ is a bit darker and after a day of wear, as the matte gets more satiny and smooth, it gets even darker.

This one is a bit more subtle. It is Zoya - Goldie for the moons and OPI - Dazzled By Gold for the rest.

And this one! I love this one. This is Rescue Beauty Lounge - Underwear for the moons and Mode Cosmetics - Tatt-Tastic, a dark dusty navy, for the rest.

This is how I accomplish this look. A lot of times when I do a halfmoon mani it is just a way to spice up a manicure I have already had on for a day or more. I take reinforce stickers that are used for loose-leaf paper, cut them in half, and place them on the lower portion of my nail. Then paint the rest of the nail with the majority color, peel off the stickers (after each nail) and add top coat if necessary. Not for the matte ones of course.

Here is a couple you've seen already:

Rescue Beauty Lounge - No More War + China Glaze - Matte Magic

Sally Hansen - Thinking of Blue + OPI - Mad As A Hatter

What do you think of halfmoon manicures? Love 'em? Hate 'em?

Thinking of a Mad Blue Hatter

OPI - Mad As A Hatter

Morning all! I am bringing you a mani I wore over the weekend that I was madly in love with. I called it "Thinking of a Mad Blue Hatter". It is a halfmoon mani with Sally Hansen - Thinking of Blue and OPI - Mad As A Hatter from the new Alice in Wonderland collection. When MAAH came in the mail on Friday I was dying to wear it but wasn't ready to part with my Thinking of Blue mani, so I put them together:

I used reenforcement stickers cut in half to protect the bottom part of my blue mani and painted the rest with Mad As A Hatter. I did two coats of MAAH, pulled off the stickers, and did a coat of Seche Vite top coat over the whole nail.

Have a great day!

No More War Halfmoon Matte Manicure

Hi guys! I am traveling today so this is a scheduled post. I am not actually sitting here posting this! I am on my way to New York state to see my family! YAY! But I have pics of nails for you!

This was a mani I did last week. After a day of wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge - No More War I wanted to do some sort of halfmoon mani to it. I bought circular reinforce stickers for loose-leaf paper, and was ready to go!

I couldn't come up with a complementing color, and then it hit me. Do it matte! So I stuck on the little reinforcers on the lower part of my nail to mimic my natural halfmoon, and painted the rest of my nail with China Glaze - Matte Magic. I love it!

Have a nice holiday!
